Brooklyn stays with you…

So a second Hotel Brooklyn just pitched up in Leicester – and right on the doorstep of the Tigers. Just like our sister in Manchester, we’ve got the stoop, the steaks, the crafty Brooklyn Lager, and cocktails like Bloody Runyon’s or a Brooklyn Bridge to give you that film-set feeling.

We’ve got something for everyone

Brooklyn welcomes all kind of folk, and we’re cut from the same cloth. We’re perfectly placed in the heart of Leicester – a free-kick from the King Power, and a short punt from Welford Road and the University. Whether you’re here for business or leisure. Whether you’re local or global, you’ll love the hustle and the Brooklyn bustle.

DON'T LOOK BACK IN ANGER...

The site on which Hotel Brooklyn stands was built in 1915 as the training halls for Leicester’s Army recruits during World War I. Granby Halls subsequently became an exhibition, sports and entertainment venue, featuring big names such as The Who, Deep Purple, the Rolling Stones and The Police, hosting the Home Life Exhibition, boxing tournaments, the Riders Basketball team, roller-skating and radio shows.

The last band to appear at Granby Halls on 17 November 1995? Oasis!

We’re hoping that Hotel Brooklyn Leicester will become just as much of a focal point for fun and games as the old Granby Halls.

A symbol of liberty

We’re just around the corner from the Statue of Liberty …. well, a small replica of the Statue of Liberty created by Leicestershire stonemason Joseph Morcom. The statue originally stood on top of the ‘Liberty’ shoe factory – after the company’s bosses paid a starry-eyed visit to New York in 1919. It was relocated to Walnut Street next to the River Soar in 2008.

However – what you will find right here at Hotel Brooklyn are our amazing Liberty bedrooms – voted the most accessible-friendly rooms in the UK – fulfilling our commitment to ensuring everyone feels welcomed, respected, and valued here.

A Grandstand view

At the hub of the Hotel is a unique, vibrant living/working space called The Grandstand. The name is a nod to our sporting neighbours, of course, but the vibe is all Brooklyn – an area for social movies and acoustic nights, small gatherings, laptop working, filled with big comfy sofas and rich patterned armchairs. Lie back, read, enjoy a record from our own collection, order up an Atlantic Pale Ale or a Brooklyn Rickey and enjoy the action.
