DAMAGE / THEFT / LOSSES 

In the case the property after an investigation or when alerted finds damage or items lost or stolen the property has the right to put a holding charge on the person who paid for the room/ suite / event space account. This is designed to make good the costs of the damage and/or to recover costs to replace items lost or stolen or both or to undertake a repair.

All damage / losses or thefts will be explained to the person who paid for the room and this information will also be passed onto the relevant authorities.

Note there is no upper limit on the holding charge only that which the hotel deems as reasonable to cover its costs and lost sales.

SMOKING CHARGE

Hotel Brooklyn is a non-smoking facility therefore no one is allowed to smoke in any public areas within the hotel including bedrooms, suites and outside terraces.

The person signing the registration card agrees that they or the person paying for the room (if they are not the same person) agrees to pay a standing charge of £250 if the room / space  /terrace  /suite is reported to have had someone smoking within it during their stay.  In the first instance this will be taken from the card used as the pre-authorisation authorised on arrival at the hotel.

A report will be made of the incident and the card will be charged with consent given by the person occupying the room by signing the registration card confirming they understand the hotels terms and conditions.

GENERAL RULES

All instructions from employees of this hotel, which are related to the house rules, must be followed. We respect your privacy in all circumstances however, we are authorised to enter your room in case of “non – compliance with our house rules”. You can report complaints to the management.

Unregistered or other hotel guests are not allowed in the room. If other guests are found in the room, you will be asked to leave the hotel immediately. It is forbidden to extend the stay on your own initiative. If you want to extend, this can be done in consultation with our reception team and against payment of the applicable rate.

It is forbidden to apply nails, screws, cellar tape etc. in walls, floors, and ceilings of your room. It’s also not allowed to (re)move the fixed furniture in the room. The following items are prohibited within our hotel: candles, incense sticks, oil burners, or any other equipment that is likely to offset the fire alarm. If rooms are damaged or left extremely dirty during a stay, guests will be charged a £150 cleaning fee or the amount it costs to replace damaged item. You are liable to cover the cost of our room rates if room cannot be used for next guest’s due damages.

In case hotel staff suspects that the room is used for commercial purposes, like prostitution, promotion for businesses (such as clothing websites), professional photoshoots, social media influencers and creating content on Hotel Brooklyn premises without official written consent of our Sales department, etc., the hotel contract will be ended immediately. In such case, the payment obligation for the agreed term of your stay will continue unabridged.

Please ensure that you respect all members of staff and your fellow residents. Our hotel is a safe and friendly environment where everybody should be treated with the same level of respect. Hotel Brooklyn has a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, intimidation, or violence to any of its staff or guests.

Do not cause nuisance to someone else, for example through loud music, obnoxious behavior, or noise of any kind. For your safety and the safety of the other guests of Hotel Brooklyn CCTV footage in the public areas are recorded and filed. Everyone who is in our hotel consents to recordings being made. In case of serious incidents on our property, Hotel Brooklyn will provide the CCTV images to the proper authorities.
